Polycarbonate (PC) is a high performance polymer used in many sectors like for example automotive industry, building and construction, communication technology, electronics and medical devices.

Its eco-profile and the eco-profile of its main precursor, Bisphenol A (BPA), have been updated and are freely downloadable from the PlasticsEurope Resource/Eco-profile section.

Eco-profiles are an important information to underpin the sustainability of plastics solutions, based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

PC and BPA eco-profiles are the first deliveries of PlasticsEurope engagement to update its eco-profiles programme on a 3-year rotation basis.

It is planned to take over Steam Cracker and Polyolefins updates in 2019, and PVC, Styrenics, and Polyamides over 2020 and 2021.
