In response to the European Plastics Strategy, the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (SusChem) and partners issue new report: Plastics Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda in a Circular Economy. This report identifies the challenges to plastics circularity and defines the types of solutions needed to address them. Future research is required in three main areas: Circularity by design, recycling and alternative feedstock.

He succeeds Daniele Ferrari, CEO of Versalis (Eni), who was elected President of Cefic (the European Chemical Industry Council) at the end of October.

Today, the 2018 European Youth Debating Competition (EYDC), an educational initiative organised by the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) and PlasticsEurope culminated with the European Finals, gathering 30 youngsters aged between 16 – even 15 - and 19 years old from 9 National Finals from across Europe.
