On Friday, May 12, PlasticsEurope Brussels team organised for the fourth consecutive year a clean-up action in the framework of the "Let’s Clean Up Europe” (LCUE) initiative. This initiative draws attention to issues related to littering and aims to promote different behaviour in the general public; most activities linked to the LCUE campaign took place during last weekend (12-14 May).
With the logistic support of Bruxelles Environnement, the coordinating agency for the LCUE campaign in the Brussels Region, eight colleagues organised themselves in small teams to clean up PlasticsEurope headquarters’ neighbourhood, located in the South-Eastern part of Brussels. During the 90-minute action, the teams grouped and sorted over 60 kg of trash, mainly composed of soft drink and beer cans, cigarette buds, candy wrappings, plastic bottles and films, and metal parts. The colleagues were able to interact with people during the action and raise awareness over the waste issue in their own area.
This successful event is part of PlasticsEurope efforts to promote responsible consumer behaviour and has become a traditional event for the staff.
