On Tuesday, May 16, the Italian "European Youth Debating Competition" project was held in Milano. It was a real success. About 100 students who participated with enthusiasm and interest in the debate, accompanied by almost thirty teachers. For most of them it was really a new experience, a different way of comparison on topics regarding our daily life that we often take for granted but are not so discounted.

The intervention of young people was preceded by that of Robare Frassine, expert in Materials Engineering, and by that of Giorgio Zampetti, scientific director of Legambiente (environmental Association).

The event was opened by the speech of Marco Bussetti, head of the Office X – Regional School Office for Lombardy, territory of Milan, welcoming participants and expressing the importance of chemistry.

A Jury, consisting of a journalist, industry representatives, lecturers and experts from EPCA (the European Petrochemical Association) and PlasticsEurope (the European Association of Plastics Manufacturers), assessed the various performance of students based not only on Knowledge, but also about their expressive ability. The choice was not easy, as the level of the various participants was very good.
